hood release not working?
#2
this happened to me once when the hood slammed shut while the cable was pulled due to weak struts. i fiddled with the release long enough till it just started working. pushed it in and out. luckily... never had problems with it again
if not then maybe the release cable probably snapped, and youll have to manually release. its behind the grille.. you can reach it from underneath the grill but youll need something long... may have to take the grille off if you arent acrobatic
but hopefully its not broken and just stuck like mine

well you have one of two problems.
#1 it could be that the rubber bumpers under the hood are worn out (pretty common) and its not pushing up on the hood. This has happened to me before I replaced all the bumpers. If this is the case here is what you need to do. Either have someone lift up on the hood while you pull the lever or if you dont have anyone to help you then put a screwdriver or something that will fit in between the light and hood to put pressure on the hood while you pull the lever.
#2 your cable or lactched could be screwed up. If thats the case follow what Magnifico said.
Good luck.
