How to shut off diagnostic mode?

I was trying to get it into mode 1 to check the O2 sensor but I couldt get it to work. Now I just went into my car and the check engine light went on. First I was like crap but then when it started flashing I realized that it was the flashing for the O2 sensor. Now I cant get the thing to shut off. How do I turn it off so it stops flashing. I tried turning it clockwise and then counter clockwise but it isnt stopping. Please help.

The key is in the on position with the car not running. When I want to turn it off the srew should be turned clockwise right, To where it says stop? Or should it be to the other side.

read the directions again. you're backwards. it should be turned fully COUNTERCLOCKWISE.

Changing modes can only be done with the Key On, engine not running!

Turn fully clockwise to switch modes (hold there for 2 secs), then back fully counterclockwise.

If the screw is fully counterclockwise and you turn the key off, it should default into mode 1 when the key is turned back on...or at least thats what my FSM tells me...
