Paintscratch.com

Cool site. I didn't know about it until the discussion on the sea foam green maxima (i have to say i had a 59 chevy biscayne as my first car and it had sea foam green interior and white exterior. Loved it.) Anyway, I haven't had any luck finding a paint that matches the white pearl (looks like a metallic cream) color that I have. Frankly, i'm not a big fan of the color, but nonetheless I'd like to clean up a rust spot on my door and then some rust around the spoiler mounts. To clean up the rust spot would require paint to cover a 4"by4" space. The spoilers would probably be about the same on each side.

Has anyone bought a spray can from paintscratch? If so, would it be worth using to fix my car's cancer (after sanding and priming, of course)? Also, the stuff is expensive do you think 1 12.5 oz can would do? or should i buy two cans? Funny side note - the 16 oz costs $160 but the 12.5 oz only costs $50 - you could get 37.5 for the same price as one 16oz.

ps. if there's a cheap autozone paint that matches pretty close does any with this color have any recommendations?

Thanks.

IMO the paintscratch.com paints are a pretty close match w/o going to the shop.

if you want it to look decent then i would get the paint from there.

if it's 4" x 4" coverage then the 12.5 should do it. make sure to get the clearcoat also.

paintscratch is absolutely the place to go if you want a color that's VERY close if not perfect to factory match. and as dan said get the clearcoat as well

Acutlaly I know locally you can get the paint mixed (from the original paint code) and then put ina spray can for $20 canadian and it matches the original code.It is actual automotive paint only pressurized in spray bomb. Most fo the time you also have to clear it since it is only a base coat.

I bought from Paint Scratch about 2 months ago for my other car (2000 Toyota Camry with Lunar Mist Metallic Paint) and I was very pleased with the results.

I bought primer, paint and clearcoat along with some small bits (sandpaper, wax remover, rubbing compound, etc..) and while I thought it was expensive at the time (I think I paid around $70), it was worth every penny.

To give you an idea, the 12.5 can was just enough to do my rear bumper with several coats.

Just be sure to follow their instructions and take your time.

I know it is the same but I meant for the price,he said $50 american for the same thing I can get for $20 canadian.I should have been clearer on to check around his area and he might find the same thing for a better price.
