Recurring sound from the drivetrain...
93SE 5spd-From 0 to about 15mph there is a rolling noise on the left side. Axles were replaced two weeks ago. Although they were bad, that wasn't the source of the noise. It's not a squeal or howl like a wheel bearing. Sounds more like a card in a bicycle wheel. Consistent noise progressing with engine speed until it is inaudible at about 20 mph. Do these trannys have a long life expectancy? 150k on this one

Put it up in the air, rotated the driver tire back and forth and felt, what I thought, a little too much play in the trans. Is that input bearing a minumental task? Can it be replaced with the trans in the car?

I had my right drive shaft replaced a while back and I notice a wierd, faint sound and slight vibration under heavy acceleration afterwards also. I can't really explain it. I took it back to the mechanic and he didn't notice it at all. Nobody else noticed either but, I did. I never figured out what it was and it slowly went away.
