custom exhaust

i have a friend that has access to a mandrel bender and 2.5" stainless steel.... if i were to have him weld me a custom system up and have him weld the stock muffler back on would i see many gains.... i have a WSP Ypipe and a stock starting to fail cat. i like the sound of stock so if i can still see gains with teh stock muffler i would like to do that, but if that will still restrict the flow, what are some good mellow (close to stock) sounding mufflers??

Get a fifth gen muffler. You may see some gains from it. If you're going through all of that get a better muffler.

it sounds like you should be buying a new o2 sensor and tuning up your car instead of replacing some pipe...
