Seat Belt Computer Fix Question

My seat belt lock will not go up when I turn on the car anymore but if I pull it up by hand (i can't get it all the way up to it's normal safety position but I can get it far enough where the cops wont give me a ticket !) and disconnect the battery, it will come back down once I reconnect the battery. I know I can unplug the computer once it's up in it's normal safety position but does anybody know a way I can get the belt lock up without pulling on it by hand? A friend of mines took a screwdriver and touched the connectors to get his windows up when his master window switch was acting up. He killed the master switch but his windows were up and thats all he wanted . I'm thinking I can do that and since I'm not going to be using the computer I can just disconnect it and call it a day once I get the lock all the way up. Anybody have any ideas or have had this problem ?

I heard that nissan has a lifetime warranty on all seatbelt stuff. so take it to a good nissan dealer.

This is true. I don't have it in front of me, but I think it's all Nissans from 1989 on.

My seat belt was frayed and I took it to the dealership and they fixed it free. Initially, they tried to tell me that fraying was not under warranty, but I looked in the warranty info and it doesn't say anything like that, so I pitched a hissy fit and they fixed it.

Your problem should be a no-brainer and they will fix it for free without any problems. If you have your warranty information book from the owner's manual, all of the seatbelt info is in there. Basically, it says they will replace it, but won't give you a rental car or anything.
