You need to find out what impedance the sub is wired at. Amps put out different power levels at different ohms loads. I use the same ground so it's good. What kind of sub is it? what amp model?

It should tell you the model number on the amp somewhere.

single voice coil sub or dual? make sure the filter on the amp is set to low not nuetral or high. make sure that your taking juice from the correct chanel. if all else fails then that amps isnt that good.

well the amp only has one setting on it and it is a gain *** other than that i have 4 gauge wireing wich i thought to be big enough and i know the amp works cause my brother just unpluged it from his mustang where it worked pretty damn good i might say.

we have a forum dedicated for audio related questions/threads...

but anyways, 4 gauge wiring should be fine for your amp. that's might not be the issue. if you used the same grounding point and it worked before, then you can eliminate that as a problem (considering it's making good contact with the chassis). i would check your gains...
