HELP...Wheel Bearings on 3rd gen....
Hey all...
I am trying to replace my driver side wheel bearing, but cant for the life of me figure out how to remove the bearing from the hub. Is it a DIY job or is it pressed in? If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it!!!!
Thanks, Joe

Front End Noise...suspect wheel bearings...question.
Ok, I have developed a front end noise in my car when ever I get over 10 mph. It reminds me of LOUD tire noise, kind of like a roaring. Its not deafening, but it is loud. It seems to be coming from the left half of the front end, ie. drivers side tire. I had the front end aligned last weekend, and new tires put on also. The tires are Uniroyal Tiger Paws, stock size on stock wheels. I was having the noise before with worn down Aqua Treads. Since the tires and alignment, the noise has remained.
My question is, I assume this is a wheel bearing starting to go. I looked to do it today but then was advised that its not a DIY unless you have a press. So on to my question. How bad will it be to drive the car until I can afford to get this done, probably a couple of weeks? The car does not pull and tracks fine on the interstate, and it has been this way for a couple of weeks, which I assumed was the worn out tires I have since replaced. I know it makes sense to repair it immediately, but I just dont have the money to get it done right now.
Thanks, Joe

plus an impact wrench
is all you'll needed. Forget about taking the entire spindle apart and bring it to the shop cuz you're only adding more works to the table. I used this kit when I did mine and they're really easy to use and operate. Shouldn't take you no more than 30mins to pop in and out old/new bearing assemblies.
However, prior to all these steps you'll need to go to Autozone to pick up a hub removal. It should looks like this guy right here:

You don't have to buy this toy cuz autozone carries them at their tool rental and it's free so why pay for it.
