i need some help with my rear windows, is there a source for the rear window tracks. i think that is what went bad.the windows won't stay up so i have them permanently propped up for right now. i really don't want to pay factory price for what seems like a easy fix. I'm in California so any thing in this area would be great. scrap yards and such. thank you -Chris

I don't think that it is the tracks but rather the window regulator, Mine also sagged thus making the window stay down...is your motor working?...hope that helps...I'm sure that someone like Matt(93GXE---RIP should be able to help....

the motors seem to be working fine, the windows just pop off the tracks like when i hit a good bump or rough roads. also it's weird, but in the mornings when it's cold the front pass. window goes down fine but goes up really slow sometimes it stops about 1/2 to 3/4 of the way up. but when it's warm out it goes up just fine.

Here's the funny part. Originally there are plastic clips that push the window up and down by the cable. Those plastic peices brake. I bought a new regulator, it was made of metal. Go figure! Just replace it, it's one of those things!

IMO, new is better. But, if you can't afford them, then check local junk yards, they will take them back if they don't work. If you can afford new ones, check with courtesy Nissan. I replaced more front two regulators and got them from my local dealer, Courtesy will be cheaper and I imagine the rear regulators are cheaper anyhow.

I don't know how much new ones are from the dealer but I see them on ebay (auto accessories - search nissan maxima) every now and then and it seems like they go for about $60 each. They are new, so that's a plus. Good luck and if I see them on ebay I'll drop an email to let you know.
