hmm...i think that's a touchy subject, the flushing. There have been some accounts that flushing has loosened up the gunk/sludge that "holds the tranny together" and after the flush, things go downhill, although it hasn't actually been corroborated, nor have I personally witnessed that either. Drain the fluid and see how it looks (metal shavings not picked up, colour, etc) Then replace with either Amsoil or Redline which are both favourites on the org.

just drain and fill, then drive around a bit.. and drain and fill again
- each drain you should get about 4 quarts out
- i use any micron/dexronIII "high mileage atf" like 4 bucks a quart, and before the last fill, i put in a can of "seafoam" tranny "additive.
- i do this about two times a year, keeps my tranny running strong, oh yeah its factory with about 150k... u dont see many last that long, so i must be doing somthing right.
- I have herd that rumor that" if u FLUSH with high miles then ur tranny will fail". Well i dont believe it, and i never seen it happen, but what could happen is all the build-up on the gaskets/seals gets taken off and u get a leak wich would lead to the trannys' failure
- just drain it and fill it, its much safer then getting it flushed i guess.....

if you flush on a trans that hasn't had been serviced consistently, you will in all likelyhood lose your trans.

i definitely second the drain and fill method. i've got 170,000 miles on my trans and no signs of wear or slipping yet. most importantly, it has NEVER been flushed.

On mine with 150k on the stock atf, should i drop the tranny pan and change the filter out, or just change the fluid. Its redish with black in it.
