Extreme Rattling HELP.
Extreme Rattling HELP.
My car began rattling the other day when i hit around 60. So i replaced the front and rear right motor mounts. Front one didn't look to bad but the rear one looked terrible. Anyway after putting it all back together the ca still rattles but now it's at 40 instead of 60.

I'm thinking of replacing the last motor mount but i wanted to know if anyone else has had a problem like this and what else could it be?

the pictures are a bit small but the thing does look like its cracked quite bad. that can cause lots of movement in the engine bay. most likely the rattling will go away if you replace that mount.
I already did. But nevermind that i figured it out. my rear tie rod bushing is missing. And the rear passenger wheel can move about an inch and a half. So maybe i need an upgrade? is blehmco still in business?
It's pretty simple.
lift the engine with a engine hoist or you can jack it up by the oil
pan with a piece of wood.
and take off the motor mount. just three bolts.
make sure you do one at a time though.
When i did the rear i was already in the middle of replacing the oil pan gaskets. so i had the crossmember off, and that made the rear mount ten times easier.
The front took me about two hours and the rear with the oil pan gasket was like 8.

I said that i was replacing the oil pan gasket also. I meant that that combined with the oil pan gasket it took 8 hours. The motor mount was probly only an hour of that work.
PS. The parralel link was completely detached from its bushings. but i just hammered it back together and used some washers to hold it in place temp.
