whas good yall? well i signed up in january but never really posted because the 1990 Maxima aint mine. it soon will be though. so here's the thing

this car has been sittin for 8 months, and time to time it'll be started just to keep the fluids runnin through the car. it has a tranny leak problem somewhere, power steering leakin, and oil is leakin burnin from somewhere.

with all these things, what else do i need to do to get her runnin right again after all this time of sittin?

oh yea it's a GXE, not the SE.

Once you get those fixed the VG doesn't has any other real issues engine wise atleast.

The "oil is leakin[g] burnin[g] from somewhere" doesn't really make sense. Is it leaking oil, burning oil (black smoke out the exhaust) or is it leaking oil on top of something like the exhaust manifold, where it smells like oil is burning?

ah, the leak is comin from on top of the engine. i think where the red valve cover meets the engine. im thinkin it's gasket. also have any of u ever left a car on hiatus for a while and when u started it up again it ran fine?

make sure those screws/bolts holding the valve cover is on tight. several of mine came loose (Guessing over time) and oil slowly leaked out.

Heck... while you're under there, why don't you just REPLACE the gasket. With your car pushing 15, it's a safe bet that the underside of your valve covers haven't seen the light of day since it rolled out from the assembly line.

Food for thought... do the dishes!

-The car was sitting for 8 months! with out being started??
-I hope there was oil being sprayed in each cyl, during that time, and you let it prime before you started it..
-as for the brakes, you might have to drain all the fluid, and ill it back up, seems like there's moisture in the fluid making the pedal feel like crud, or maybe the pads/rotors are simply worn down, rotors flake off and turn to crap when their sitting outside, in the weather for long periods of time...
do a FULL TUNE-UP, drain and fill everything fluid, I would use a good engine/tranny stop leak, some of them do work.
