You are about to get flamed very badly. Do a search first, then do another one to be sure. We hate when people come on here and just ask for things that have been discussed, literally, hundreds of times. Do a search, it'll save you the flaming and us the bandwidth that this thread takes up. Server space costs us money, and we went through a lot until Sprintmax got this thing straightened out and running as smoothly as it is. No hard feelings, just please understand where we are coming from. If the search is disabled, try pm'ing someone who has been on here for awhile. The info is all here, but we aren't going to just give it to you, that costs server space. You have to do the work yourself.

I have an ACT. It chatters a little bit (especially in reverse for some reason) and has noticeably more pressure than the stock one, but I like it. I grips well and I don't drive a lot in traffic, so I don't mind the extra pressure.

edit: I have the Exedy Stage 1 and am extremely happy with it. Although next time around I might just do the Exedy OE replacement instead since I dont care to beat on my car anymore .

O.K. I am new on here but I still think that this is an interesting comment I wouldn't just PM someone I have never said a word to and ask them to do a search for me. I kinda thought thats what the forum was for. That way the people most knowledgeable could help or steer us in the correct direction. But who know's like I said I am new on here.

Just curious, are you a 5spd or planning a conversion?
If your 5spd you are probably not a GXE.

thanks for the back up mr.gone. I never found that post that Jeff92 linked on here because its was in the general discussion, and honestly, id rather here from other members with the same generation maxima.

Mr.gone, what modifications do you have , in terms of power/torque producing?

Every bolt on except for a UDP (soon). I absolutely love the clutch, however if I were to need to replace it I would want to give the OE replacement a shot. I'm not making enough power to justify the extra $120+ I spent for the stage 1 (or if I am well, I dont really care anymore lol). I might be selling some mods if your interested aswell

What are you selling? You didn't offer up anything to me!

I think if you race your car at all (drag or autocross) IMO, you should have some type of upgraded clutch. I have seen videos of guys with clutch slippage after just 1-2 runs and even Kenji had trouble with clutch slippage with his 4th gen at our own Northwest Maxima Import Challenge last year.

id love to buy some bolt-ons, except i i pooched my tranny... im assuming its the clutch which seperated from the female spline (i dont know the proper terms) ..
my clutch was slightly slipping previously the damage, but i was doing burnouts (have ****ty motomaster tires that i want to prelace for winter, so i figured..WHY NOT )
but anyway, after 5 mins of burning out, the slutch slipped alot, and not too shortly after, i could put it in any gear, and it wouldnt engage.
Now, i thought i would hear rattling if i sperated the spline from clutch plate, but i dont.. i checked to see if me throwout arm was operating, it was...
can anyone tell me more specifically whats wrong,?
i was just going to open it up, than order what i need (which i believe is the best way to work when it comes to trannys)

I'm Not A Newbie Anymore!!!!!

I just got a spec stage 1 clutch and I love it (so far). The pedal feel is the same as stock and grips very well. It's also cheaper than other ones I've seen.

i think the lo-down is ACT is too harsh for our cars. Centerforce = "senseless force."
Exedy is great. i was gonna go that way, but needed the car the next day, couldn't order one soon, went with Valeo stg 1 --is great. i'd get it again.

i'm at the point where i don't care anymore, though. i'd use OEM just as soon as any other at this point. there are other mountains to conquer now.
