My brother's 91 Max has some issues. please help
smell of gas on cold start, although no apparent leak...engine idles high...rpm's increase and decrease while coasting

your fuel lines are a little old and the clamps gotten loose over the years. try tighten the fuel lines and if that doesn't help it's time to replace the hoses.

 

I have to laugh. I know have this problem as well. What's funny is about a month ago somebody posted this question and one of the moderators replied that this question will start coming up all the time when the weather turns cold. Good call.

 

the funny thing is, i'm getting all the symptoms of all the problems everyone is describing....

not only do i have the same symptoms of this problem, i'm also getting the stalling/cutting out problem.. and the experts suggested a different fix for everything, i don't know which part to fix..

Umm mine use to cost up and down too before when I had a auto. But my car will never idel at the same speed since I bought it. Some times 700 to 2000rpms.
