VI system

Well, Im planning for a 5spd swap in spring, and am debating between keeping my intake manifold and leaving out the variable intake system, or getting the 5spd one with it and setting it up. Is there any write up on how to set the VI system up and what components are needed?

I know you will definitely need a 5-speed ECU and the upper intake from the 5-speed car, which has the power valve. I don't know what else is needed. Maybe Jeff or Subs1000 or someone who has done a JDM conversion can help you out.

You have to set up an RPM switch that opens and closes the VI at a certain RPM. I think you can basically copy the RPM switch the 4th gen guys use on the MEVI. By the way, I will have a complete VI system for sale sometime in the spring/summer, as I have a spare I will be porting and powdercoating. Once I install it on my car, the one on my car will be for sale.

such a sh1tty idea, just let hte ECU do the work like nissan designed it to.

to swap ECU's you will want to swap wiring harnesses, or just add the wires to the solenoid to the stock harness and splice them in.
