BAD CAR PROBLEM!!! NEED HELP ASAP!! fuel presure reuglator?

Hey i have a 92 maxima GXE vg30e
ive had this problem since i got it
when i shut it off sometimes it wont crack up
turns over, and smells like gas. (floods i think)
so i pull the fuel pump fuse and give it gas all teh way
and it cranks up eventualy, then runs like crap.
sometimes it shuts off and i have to do this about 3-15times
to get it to crank, each time it gets worse, now its to the point where it doesent keep running for more then a few seconds

also it putters at low rpms while driving, and when the car is running i smell fuel badly, also its smoking BLACK smoke realy bad when it starts and when im sitting. also smells like gas.

could this be the fuel presure regulator?
if so where can i get one?

ill second injectors. or FPR. nissan dealer can get them or www.internetautomart.com very reputable and professional ive purchased thru him a few times. if your getting black smoke then the cylinder may be getting oil in it some how maybe thru bad valve seals. IF AND ONLY IF the valve seals are VERY bad you will lose your compression thus the no start syndrome, running like crap and the black smoke. PLEASE consult a mechanic as since we cant see or hear the car it difficult to diagnose. black smoke can also be caused my misfiring and misfiring is because your timing is off and thus again creating your no start problem adn the gas smell.....and we are here to help please dont rant like you did in the other thread we arent on this site 24 hours a day im usually on at night during the week as i work........

couple of injectors stuck open or a bad fuel pressure regulator. in either case, you get to pull the fuel rail off, so get to work.

who votes for setting it on fire? now its running worse then ever! today it started chugging real hard like its not fireing properly like a plug is gone bad. Just put brand new NGK plugs and new wires on there also new distributor and rotor button thing inside. problem is horrible, also, i have an huge exaust leak on the rear exaust manifold, its smoking so bad, under the hood my intake filter is black within a week.
how hard is it to fix broken exaust manifold studs? any guids to do it? can i do it bymyself? what tools are needed.

Just set it on fire and shut up about it. Exaust manifold is not so hard to replace sept bolts that might be rusted, look thrue the stikey that tells you to go to autozone.com, they have online repair manuals to help you with your problems. Also there are special tools you will need because taking bolts out with your hands is quite hard, use wrenches or socketwrenches for better grip. also WD40 would help. Watch out for the flux capacitator if you damage it your car just wont run the same....

look it seems your max needs a professional mechanic to look at this. but if your a glutton for punishment. check each cylinder to make sure they are firing. we will worry about the broken manifold in a min. remove the sparkplug one at a time connect the plug wire and place 1/32 - 1/8 in. on top of metal (manifold will work) have a buddy TAP the key see if they fire. repeat on other 5 cylinders. if they all check out ok thats a good thing that means they are all firing. Get or borrow or rent a compression tester. remove spark plug insert compression tester turn motor by hand with big socket on crank pulley check compression if all cylinders "pump up" thats another good thing. get a meter "fluke" would work. check injectors for proper function. there is a write up on here somewhere on the ohm resistance i believe just do some digging. if all the injectors, timing, and spark check out....whats left ? fuel....check the filter but before removing it pull the pump fuse crank motor till dies then remove filter so its not under pressure. replace fuse.
BTW is the top or bottom of the filter black. is is oily ?
also for the broken studs you will have to drill the old studs out and retap the heads but by the sound of your expertise PLEASE jut bring this car to a mechanic. all the smoke in the intake if thats what it is also could have ruined the MAF sensor....

all the smoke in the intake can be what's making it run bad.

i need to re-word this. all of the smoke going into the intake could definitely cause the problems. the car must have oxygen to run so if there's a lot of smoke in the engine bay that could definitely be a problem. (hell, now that i think of it that could be causing me some issues too. my intake is right above the rear manifold and the rear manifold is leaking like the niagra falls )

Not to discount the fact that it is a GSE. Not sure if it still has it on that engine, but if you have the crank angle sensor you might check it. Mine is an 89 and is in the distributor, but I am not sure where your's is. I am fighting the same battle right now though. minus the sputtering and smoke. Idles high right when it is about to do it. then you can crank and crank and it won't start. Let it sit for a bit, then it will start fine. I am down to the distributor (crank angle sensor), and the engine temp sensor as well.

mine old max(92 gxe auto)was fooked up running but only half the time...,hesitation,barely moving ,backfiring out of the intake, timing was moving, crappy i thought ...o2 sensor?tune?injectors?

it was the timing belt it was kinda loose and moved teeth im lucky the **** diidnt break
its not that hard to check it though ..

drain rad most of the way ,remove top rad hose ,covers ,crank pulley and check it

careful it has a tensioner that is not self-adjusting and dont get oil/fluid on the belt good luck

these cars still run even when ****s all ****ed up ....bravo
