Sluggish at takeoff
I was trying to run a 0-60 time earlier this afternoon and after I had been driving the car for a couple of hours I came up with a 13 SECOND time!!!! Now mine is a '92 SE auto with about 95Kmiles and a recent full "D" service at the dealership. I left it in D and switched the shifter mode to perf. I nailed the gas and it seemed like a full second for it to even get going. 0-35 was pathetic, I mean a Geo Metro could have taken me!!! Anyway, after 35 mph (or around 4K rpms) it would take off like I knew it should. I pulled over, turned the car off, scratched my head, restarted it, and tried again.....and I got around a 8 second 0-60!!! Now thats fine, but I mean, a five second difference!!!! What in the world could this be? Has anyone else experienced this?
Check this out. It's free and easy to do. I could make nice difference if the connector is corroded.

no kidding it's slow
I have a 93 Se auto, and it's pretty damn sluggish off the line for the most part. Doing the exact method of running down the track, I've ran the 1/8th with times of 10.1 to 11.1.....most of the time, it's 10.4 though, but very inconsistent for an auto. I've heard about the resister thing before, but never knew the harm for trying it.
Dude have you replaced the igniton coils yet, I replaced the rear bank and was very happy to see an increase in torque. I went from a pathetic take off to some nice tire chirping. When I get the cash I'll replace the other three. If you order them from Courtesy Nissan you can get'em for about $50 a piece.
Have you had the injectors tested yet with a power balance test? If you havent definitly consider having some diagnostics done.

Forgot to mention this
There is a technical service bulliten out for our knock sensor. It has to do with a bad wiring harness. It turns out that the timming gets retarded about 2-3 additional degrees than it should during WOT. When I do work on my injectors I plan to run a new set of wires from the knock sensor directly to the ECM. In case you didnt know, its located between the two heads and the intake maniforld needs to be removed to get at it.
The only way to test if the harness is bad is with the use of the Consult diagnostic tool. It'll give continuous readouts of the engine timming.
So its not really a big deal to make your own run of wire and send it directly to the ecm, make sure you have the wire color codes right.
