Wierd Bose problem in 92 SE
I have an odd problem when playing tapes or using the tape adapter of a Discman through the tape deck in my Bose cassette player. The right side speakers (front and rear) will play loud and crystal clear, but the left side speakers (front and back) will play at a significantly lower volume to the point of almost being inaudible. Yet when I just listen to the radio all of the speakers work and sound great. What is going on? Oh by the way, I recently had my Bose speakers and amps sent off to a place called www.willmanselectronics.com and had all four of them rebuilt for $200.00. Now they sound great, with the exception of the tape player thing.

Ok this is going to sound weird, but what kind of tape adapter do you use? I've found that only Sony ones will work with my Bose system. Then again I have the CD/tape combo (I had to use one for a while when my CD player broke). So you might try that if you're not using a Sony. Anyway, about the speaker problem. Go to www.davescoolstuff.com, he does EXCELLENT work on Bose systems.
I tried just playing a regular cassette yesterday and it had the same problem, only the right side speakers would work. Anyway, all four speakers play great when you are listening to the radio, so I'm sure its not the speakers or amps themselves, rather something to do with the tape player. By the way, I had all my amps rebuilt for $200.00 from www.willmanselectronics.com and I could be happier now that I have a fully functioning Bose system (well except for that blasted tape deck!!!).
in the two Maximas I've owned - same thing happened
I'm convinced it's a defect. In both my current Max and previous white Max, the left speakers click and do not come through with full volume when in the tape mode. Just a defect I guess.
