I'm trying ot figure when my low fuel light is supposed to come on. Since having my Maxima, I have never seen a low fuel light, but I always manage to full the tank with around 10 litres left in. At what point do your lights come on? I figure mine is broken.

 

Every car is slightly different. Your tank hold 18 gal for ref. Light should come on with roughly 3 gal left +/- 1-2 gal

 

according to the haynes IIRC it said 2 and 3/8 gallons, so jeff was kinda right

 

Well, 10 litres is 2.63 US gallons so maybe I just need to drive farther. I'm not one to run the tank close to empty but it'd be nice to know if the light it working. One day I'll take a jerry can of gas with me and drive until I see the light, or it runs out, heh.

 

My light does not come on until the Tank shows its 1/8 full. so maybe you just have to drive until it gets close to the last notch on the Guage.

 

I've run the tank dry, and still no light

 

i have also run the tank till dry...and no light...then the one day my light came on with 3/4 of a tank left...wierd

 

Mine used to come on about 1/8 tank or right before "E" was hit. But, my bulb is blown I think and it has not come on in some time. My car doesn't start to sputter until the needle is clearly past the "E" mark.
