Cruise control not working

On my new 94 SE the cruise control never worked since i got it. I replaced the actuator and cable off of my old car. The cruise control on my old car worked befor i got rid of it so I know the parts I put on are good. When I puch the switch to turn it on the LED on the switch turns on. but when I hit SET on the steering wheel no light on the dash comes on and the cruise control does not work. Any ideas?

well if the light comes on, and when you hit the switch nothing happens, id suspect something in the switch

or maybe the light in the dash is out and it is working, you just havnt realized it

If your car is a 5 spd check to see that the pedal is going all the way up and hitting the switch. Look under the dash and you will see there are two switches that the clutch should touch. One when the pedal is al the way down which is the interlock switch. And the other when the pedal is all the way up (forgot the name). Basically this lets the cruise control know if you are on the clutch pedal. When the cruise is on if you press either the brake or clutch pedal, it will cancel the cruise. So if the pedal isnt touching the switch then the cruise thinks you are on the pedal and it wont set. I hope you understand what I am trying to say.

Watch him say he has an auto after I typed all that.

I narrowed my problem down to a faulty pin switch on the brake pedal. The contact point was broken inside and was telling the cruise control system that I was using the brakes which kept it from engaging. Talked to courtesy parts and the oem replacment is about 20 bucks last time i checked.
