Wood Wheel?

After 13 years of service my stering wheel is in need of some attention. In all the years of being on the org., the only thing I can recall talking about is airbags in reference to stering wheels. Do we have any options when it comes to replacing it and keeping the cruise control in tact. Maybe just repacing the the area around the center part?

I have a 240sx steering wheel that has the cruise buttons built in. A similar wheel to mine that fits our cars can be found in the z32 (90-91 300zx) without an airbag and also a 90-92 Stanza without an airbag. There is another steering wheel from the 240sx and I think Stanza that is a little smaller, but still has the cruise buttons.

As far as I know, no one makes an aftermarket one for our cars with the cruise buttons. IIRC, one of the New Zealand guys (Edzmax or Nismobaron ??) has a custom steering wheel that has wood in it. It looks pretty cool, but doesn't have cruise built into the wheel.

Here is what mine looks like:

why dont you try an infiniti model with woodgrain wheel and airbag, you'll have to check on the airbag setup, but I think they should be similar on early 90's Q45 or M30/ J30

I never looked into that because I don't have an airbag and I didn't wan't to pay a crapload of money for an airbag that doesn't work. Usually airbag steering wheels are several times more expensive than non-airbag ones. Also, Infiniti stuff is just straight up expensive, unless you get super lucky. I know this because my other ride is an Infiniti. I think ALL Infinitis have airbags, too. The first cars came out in 1989 (1990 model year) and they all seem to have them when I did a google search and checked on ebay.

Since this is a "buy it now" auction, I will show you what the other s13/stanza steering wheel looks like:

smaller s13 steering wheel

the Q45 wheel that i have is all black leather but the problem with them is they're HUGE. the steering wheel is much bigger than the one in the maxima and definitely doesn't leave much room for steering. on top of that it has an air bag (mines a 90... first year production). but they do fit in the end... just not the greatest option.

I have a leather-wrapped steering wheel, very similar if not the same as the one Chris posted that's on ebay, it's out of an '89 240, and it has cruise control buttons, very nice actually, if it's still on my cardomain I'll post a pic..

Craig Brace posted a couple times the link to a place that has very high quality steering wheel wraps..
