clicking ve

hey guys i know this is probably a stupid question but im new to the maxima so any help would be great. I just got a 92 se automatic with the ve30de, theres a clicking sound coming from the engine and my friend said that its the vdc, any ideas if hes right or how to fix it? thanks a lot

The noise you are hearing is an issue with VTC sprockets. There are a couple options to choose from, you can use this link to see how to repair or to quiet it down. http://www.geocities.com/craigbrace

It's most likely the VTC solenoids.They will click and clack until you replace them.That is a pretty big job though.Craig brace's site can guide you on grounding them until you can replace them. http://www.geocities.com/craigbrace/.

hey josh

whats up yea im a VG owner :/ so im not the best but im good with engines ... so josh find a link or maybe someone here will help you get a link to get new vtc's and ill help you fix emm one weekend ... all you got to buy is parts and food think will be the free fix since you bought the best car on the planet maximas rule!!!

oh yea, b4 i forget someone post that link where everyone gets the ve tranny's for cheap so i can do a 5 spd swap for him ... auto just isnt cutting it accually josh just get a newer ve with like 40k on it so we can cam it and do a turbo then you'll be so sick ... you'll never need a different car this one will be it.

ok yea just decide ... new engine since yours has alot or new vtc's... look for a rebuild kit maybe we'll make you able to KILL mike and his ugly 4th gen lol well either way well get it fixed

call me when you get your **** and ill help yea fix it all

oh yea, we have to get some pics of our max's together and post emm up

you have to make a cardomain site as well. this is so awsome

thanks guys, and jimmy idk about all that, i think im gonna try to do that ground out thing...but does it negatively effect power? it seems to have a good amount of power right now ;-) I just dont want my car sounding like a POS, i love her too much.

yes you do loose some power when you ground them.

how much power? and if i just deal with the sound, is there any negative affect? when it clicks does that means im already losing power? ill deal with it if it means ill keep my power and wont hurt the engine any. thanks u guys really r so much help.
