my headlights are freaking out on me. most of the time only one of them will come on, this has been going on for a few days now. and my brights dont work either! if i keep turning the lights on and off they will both come on, and then while i'm driving one or the other will just shut off. sometimes neither of them will come on. sometimes both will come on. i cant drive anywhere at night because they will just shut off on me, or one of them will shut off, crazy stuff! wtf? whats going on? i have the stock bulbs in them! and when i did have the hypers they were stock wattage! what can i do? usually the passenger side light is the one that wont come on, if that means anything. but what about the lights sporadically shutting off? i can hear a clicking from the fuse box thingy on the passenger side of the engine, dont know if that has any signifigance though. any help would be appreciated

 

sounds like you have a bad relay...i think they're located in the box by the battery...i'd start there

 

am i correct that i should hear the relay click? the only one i can hear clicking is the one near the passenger side box marked "corner lamp". i dont hear anything coming from the either of the two boxes near the battery. and if i had a bad relay the headlights just wouldnt work at all, or would it be sporadic like i described?

 

yeah you should hear the relays clicking...i'm not sure about the sporadic thing though...it sounds like what happens when the harness melts or goes bad. but you say that you haven't run high wattage bulbs...

have you checked the sockets??? it sounds like teh symptoms of a burning out socket......
