Aluminum pedals?

Aluminum pedals?
Anyone that has installed those ricer, aluminum 'race' pedals - how'd you do it?
I just installed the clutch and brake pedals, and have yet to get around to the accelerator pedal. Was just curious how others had done their installs? I wanted a 'factory' look, so it was actually (and unexpectedly!) quite labor intensive!

Do you mean the AE pedals or the actual clamp-on ricer jobs? I did the AE pedals and you have to cut a pivot link on the accelerator rod to install the AE gas pedal. I have no experience with the universal ones.

What are the AE pedals??
What are the AE pedals??

If the pic doesn't work go here: http://maxima.cardomain.com/memberpage/214496/3. All 3 pedals require modifications to fit.

Don't think I've ever heard of, or seen those b4?? Interesting...
My pedals were the universal clamp-on style and I initially thought I'd just remove the factory rubber pads and drill into the metal and bolt them up properly (not clamp them on - that method sucks). When I took the rubber off, I noticed the factory metal peice was too small. I ended-up fabricating my own metal peices, contouring them to match the after-market pedals, drilling them to accept the bolts (went with allen head type) and welding them on.
While I was at it, I moved the pedals about 1/2" to the left and 1/2" down - cause I never really felt the stock pedals were positioned correctly. Good thing I did too, cause these new pedals are much larger than the stock ones. Feel great, and looks great too!
Haven't decided how I'm going to do the gas pedal yet. I found it a little odd that the gas pedal is all plastic (this is my first pedal swap ever). Any ideas / suggestions would be much appreciated - just keep in mind that it MUST have a factory appearance when done.

Those are nice. Are they full pedals, or just covers that slip over the existing rubber? (difficult to tell from that pic and keep in mind I've never seen them b4)

I believe they are the fabricated ones being that they were a major mod job. He said that...if you read below.

you remove the old rubber, and hack off some metal, then heat up the new rubber, and put them on. I attached the AE gas pedal with small gauge wire wrapped around the back. Havent had any problems... I still need to do the clutch and brake pedals. Too bad the 350z dead pedal doesnt look to fit right.

You'll have to hack alot of the plastic off, or use the bare metal plate and create a new bracket to mount it on. I'm gonna look into it in the spring, when the temps get above 50 degrees consistently. I also need a Dremel
