I have a 1990 SE, and when I try to start I do not hear the fuel pump turn on. I made the mistake of picking up another fuel pump from a salvage yard and installing it resulting in no change. I now assume it may be the fuel pump relay. I am not able to find it. Could someone point me to where the fuel pump relay is, or perhaps suggest another possible solution? Thanks.

Its in the trunk area, behind the panel right below the centerpiece of the tail lights. I think it's green.

Ok, are you saying that upon opening the trunk, it is under the plastic trim which anchors the carpet?

1990 Fuel pump relay in trunk image 3rd gen
Here is image of the fuel pump relay (green) and emergency fuel cut-off (relay orange) in trunk of 1990 Maxima.

You need to remove the plastic trim piece between the tail lights and pull down the beauty panel to access the relays
