Can I make my 3rd gen a 3rd gen cefiro ?

I know it's RWD and RHD but I want to know if I can put the front clip on it on my car. Can anyone help me out on this one ? I REALLY like the way that thing looks and would love to do something that different.

Why bother with the front clip? Honestly the styling is VERY similar. Just get you the headlights, corner lights and grille. Make them fit RIGHT even if it requires body work to fit the corner lights like stock and some creativity and customization for the headlights and grille to line up. Then get a wings west body kit and have a shop mold it to a factory 3rd gen bumper to look like the one in your picture, trust me it can be done.

Here's a question, does anyone have a picture of the wings west body kit? I keep seeing show up on listings, but none of the online stores have a picture. Not even wings west. Makes me wonder if it even exists. I only ask because I'm thinking of getting a kit, and I'm stuck between one of the erebuni kits, and the wings west (just because I haven't seen it)

you have to have pics hosted somewhere (try cardomain, even though it's been not working correctly lately).

As for the Cefiro lights, I think they look pretty good on Maxininct's car, but from what he described it seemed like a lot of work. In which case, personally, I like the E36 projector conversion just as well and would probably go that route if I ever decide to change lights.

Cefiro A31 - is not analog of J30 maxima. It stay near Skyline R31 in nissan model line. linear 6 cilinder engine RB-series, skyline-stile suspension etc... And body has too many differenc with J30 maximas. BMW E36 headlamps imho the best ligting mods to j30 maxima.

Maxininct - great job with the conversion...I'd never seen that. Great grill light combo...makes the max look a lot more "current" in the style department.

I think that we could modify the bumper to fit to our fenders, just need to get the bumper, and grille/lights...

I got a quote from Japandy on ebay for a set of lights and grille for $165-$250 shipped. I'll have to see about the bumper, I am sure it will be a lot more since it is bulky.

The body style for the cefiro and J30 are similar, but they have differences.

Essentially the JDM maxima stuff is the same as USDM, there are slight varitations between CDM, UKDM, AUDM. Canada/Aussie/UK got folding rear seats. UK got a different grille and corners.

I am not actually sure if, or how many maximas were actually sold in Japan? The # of JDM maximas even then would still be small in comparison to the US market.

Like Maxinct has done with the Cefiro headlights and grille. that shows us that the front end must have a similar width, at least within 1/4-1/2" tolerance. The bumper should be an easy thing to attempt, ours mounts differently to the front fenders, so we would have to fabricate some mounting brackets after hacking off some of the bumper ends. The other question is about the height of the bumper, will it drop beyond the fender? or will it line up? Then to go about getting this to line up with side skirts that might be the same length, since we use the cefiro door sills in our car. Then we'd just have to worry about a rear end makeover. Add in the corner lights or keep the stock ones. And voila! A cefiro 3rd gen maxima.

This is not the first time I've heard of the Cefiro, but it is the first time I've seen one. Pretty hot. Not quite Silvia or Skyline hot, but aggressive nonetheless.

That would be cool if the intire body was real close. That would open up a hude load of options.

The major difference in the front panel is that the space between the front wheel well and the beginning of the front door is longer on the Cefiro. I am not sure on the specs of the lines coming down the hood, but if you want you could do some chopping and make em fit. Not for the faint hearted.

FYI, the J30 chassis was never used in Japan. Too big for the times IIRC.

hey antonthegrey, nice engine bay, it looks exactly the same as mine minus the CAI... mine is just short ram.. same plug wires, FSTB...

edit: just saw the exterior pic on ur sig, damn, even the fogs look similar, and the body colored grille.. cept mine still has the "nissan" in chrome on...

back to topic.. i think the cefiro looks like a ford thunderbird. and i actually like the cefiro lights on a black maxima with the stillen kit more than it being on the cefiro itself.

the cefiro lights mod on the max looks so damn cool with the stillen front lip.. it's just awsome.

Got to get them imported from Japan or Aussie. You can keep the stock cefiro grille.... the lights are wider than our stockers.
