Sound - proofing...
Sound - proofing...
1. What have u done to quiet your car? (pls., with all respect to your pwr, teen 3kW stereotypes, please do not...)
I've done a lot, heres one noisypoint I found:
2. One 'interesting' rear noise source amplifier DE-SIGNED by nissan engineers: originally maxima, bluebird, (whatelse?) do come with drums for the roadnoise. Taking 'em off, will make some difference:
Take back seat backpart off. On both corners where back shocks are attached, there are black rubber drums. The 'wall' -part is the rigid vibration conductor from road - strut bolts, and the round elastic top is the drum's noise reproducing film.
Take that rubberboot oompah off, fill the place with plush garment or smtg which dampens, not amplifies.

I put picked up 3 rolls of 'peel and seal'. It's a sealer for roofs that it mad out of tar/rubber with and aluminum side on it. You peel and and stick it on. I did it to my doors, trunk lid, and will do my trunk space. I noticed a HUGE cut in road noise. It's been done before and I think it's great. It'll add 10 pounds to ur car. about .75 horse power lose correct? lol. Makes a good weather seal to.

screw the stereo benefits-- I can hear myself breathe at 100mph in this thing..
(well not anymore.. I'm in the middle of ripping it all out to save weight.

)I can hear police siren inside mi head at that speed. Still got lisence, u know...
Some sharp pics u have there.
Weight problem? Noooo. Less than one small kid... better to define your own noises. [eh, what did I say about kids & noises, poor thin king...]

I did that with glued double plush -garment; although doors have anti rust all over, so soundproofing has to done into the doorpanels.
Worst place for road noise in maxima is the open metals 'seen' ! on drivers left foot (wheel well area) & passenger side also, quite a stereopiano boxes half covered with plastic. Another conductor is the trunk inside 'roof'
a,b,c pillars conduct road noise to the master drum (=roof), glued those...
+ cabin floor
Now, quietness on demand.
Well peel and seal works well. But I got rid of the spare and the weld and any thing eles in the trunk.Oh yeah every body I use to have 3680lb max Well I have took part of the wall out now and im down to like 3440lbAnd I still have the bottom part of the wall to come out. Trying to get the vg into the 13's Hoping with out nos.Getting the weight out and turning up the boost might do it.
