need some Ebrake advice

ok so tonight i decided to do a backwards donut in an unplowed parking lot, considering it has been snowing like crazy i thought i would be ok. well when i pull my ebrake i feel it snap and i lose all tension in the cable and i hear it pop, the worst part is that i think my rear brakes are partially engaged because of it, i don't know why they would be but they now make a soft grinding noise when i drive at <30mph and when i get out of the car i can smell them as soon as i open the door. now i'm looking at my nissan FSM and it looks like their is one cable that then attaches to the 2 rear cable assemblies, i think it is that single first cable that i snapped because there is absolutely no tension in the handle, if this is correct can anybody suggest a place to go for this part or should i just get it from a nissan dealer? and how much of a pita is this probably going to be to fix?

thanks

Quick fix is to grasp hard the wires to wheels and give a big shake. At least rusted cables normally will let loose and u can drive. Generel parts stores should have those, at least give a try.

so the snow outside didn't warn you that parts of your car could be frozen and therefore brittle being 12-14 years old as it is. wish I knew about how the ebrake is setup, your gonna have to get uner there and look...bbbrrrrrrrrr

If thats the case, the cover has cracked and will rust/jam again. Replace all when the time comes.

Do not plead, stupidity = NC: No Communication, No Connection. There is no such thing as stupid question though stupidos will laugh in chorus; theyre absolute that earth is flat...

This forum still is free of them -Nice!- thanks to active moderators?
