repair time........ suspension

Rack and pinion shot to hell.

Hit 60 on FWY and the car starts to shimmy. (an oil leak pretty much destroyed anything rubber)

So tomorrow it is off to get parts and begin repairs. Oil leak getting first priority of course.

a couple of questions for the Maxima guru's here though. I did check the faq links, and did a number of google searches and got no info that was useful.

1. Rack & pinion. Factory Nissan parts or are there aftermarket alternatives?

2. Already tinkering around in the suspension anyway, contemplating additional parts. I highly doubt I am interested in lowering the car. will probably be adding Koni shocks. Thought I saw something once about air bags, but I can't find it now.

I bookmarked a thread here on brake modding with a 300Z kit, and I'll probably be getting that as well. It was just hard as hell to find appropriate threads here with no search function so if this has been covered elsewhere my apologies.

3. Yeah, I know BBK requires new wheels. Got that covered with some nice 18 x 8's (at least I think they were 8) from wheel warehouse in Anaheim CA. 1300.00 for 4 and tires.

Anything else to consider?

for brakes, you may want to look at www.mattblehm.com and see what he has to offer

konis should be really good for handling. If you put 18s with stock springs, I think there will probably be a pretty big wheel gap so I would definitely lower it. Go with Eibachs for good handling and a small drop

depending upon the spoke design of the wheels they may not clear the Z32 calipers
