My new muffler.

G35 stock muffler. I should have it installed before the weekend.

It has 2 4" tips.

At first i didint see how that muffler and the one we were looking at were the same? but now i understand... should make for a good custom set-up.. can't wait to hear/see it done! good luck.

Anyone have any idea's? I saw some stuff on ebay but dont know if its worth it. and if it a piece of crap that will explode. lol. Any ideas will be thanksful. Sorry for thread stealing. The daul exhaust setup you saw a few posts up is a Flowmaster 80 Series muffler made for the Camaro. You would need an exhaust shop to bend some pipes for you or I believe there is a kit for a setup like that. But a muffler shop would prob come out cheaper.

The kit that custommaxima sells are IIRC only for 4th-5th gen models so you'll off on your own for a custom set-up. I think using the flowmaster diagram above would a great choice because no denting of the spare tire well is required. If you look at the space around the drivers side of the spare tire well, there is enough room for at least a 2" pipe while still having enough room to compensate for exhaust movement.

that setup is possbile and it wont cost you the spare tire well if the pipes are ran correctly

the pipes on the G muffler need to be chopped off close to the muffler itself because the existing bends are not going to work except for the left outlet since that is already bent in the correct direction to run over to the driver side

but chopping the pipes and extending it would change the sound a bit...no?

OK, I did it. YEs it cost me the spare wheel well and saved me on weight.

I did it in a hury so I have a single leak somewhere.

It's too dark for pics right now, I'll have a few up 2mroro.

Awesome! Sorry to hear you had to cut through the spare wheel well though. But as long as you didn't need to change the exhaust size, it should be good. So you gotta post pics man!
Oh, and how does it sound? Does it have that signature G35 growl? Nice. (double thumbs for double exhaust)

i thought the goal was not to chop the spare wheel well. if the wheel well didn't matter than you could've put anything there.

What did you use to hold the pipes in place? I would like to know. Looks great

Cutting a whole in any part of your structure compromises rigidity though.

The hole will be filled and I'm going to tighten all that up. If you ever looked ur maxi you would understand I didn't weaken anything. The pipes are spot weld and held with clamps.

It's not as loud as I thought it would.... Then again... It's hard to tell siting on the inside, anyone wanna do a drive by for me me? lol. But it's very noticable. Sounds great though, very throaty growl at a higher note. Sounds racy and less farty.

Yeah, when I get a y-pipe, I'm going to fix a couple manifold studes and a cat with less restriction and go 2.5 from the cat to the muffler, TILL THEN it's a chop job.

If anyone goes with a g35 muffler the wheel well has to go, there's no manderaling around it.

YEs it does sound like a g35, a slightly weak one. If I lose the cat it should be louder.
