Hello, my Sony CD player skips randomly and often on little bumps. It also requires a CD to be in it at all times or it will grind looking for one and turn off my radio (when I'm listening to my radio).

I need to raplace/repair the CD player and I'd like some more information and suggestions. I've read that the BOSE system in my car will only accept certain kinds of CD players ect...

Thanks

Mike

When I bought my car, it had Pioneer speakers in the back, bose in the front, and a Sony head unit. F.Y.I, the bose speakers, even though they are 10 years old, are definitely superior to the Pioneers.

Bose speakers operate on 1 ohm of impedance and regular speakers and head units use 4. You will need an adapter to make everything work. It fits in-between your head unit and the speakers. You can get one from Best Buy, Crutchfield, or your local audio shop. Beware of buying a cheap one... Mine works when it wants to. The balance on my speakers sometimes changes at random.

Wow thanks, now I have a decent idea of what to buy.
Is it hard to install a new cd player??

So what is the best kind of adapter cd combo. Should I try to get the Same brand cd player and adaptor to ensure good performance????? Can I just buy another SonyCD player and use the adaptor I already have in my car??

Thanks

I've got an adapter to let you use bose with an aftermarket cd player if you decide to buy one.
