Need help with cut wire in engine compartment.....

Okay.....I've had this car for 2 weeks now and I'm finally getting around the pulling the plugs to check them today and I find this.......Looks to me like maybe it goes to an injector or some type of sending unit/sensor...What does this wire go to? Why would it be cut? Normal wear and tear or was it cut by previous owner? Why would it be cut if it was? What will happen if I reconnect it? Thanks in advance for any info......BTW the plugs all looks pretty good, no oil deposits, normal carbon buildup, but with white deposits on the very top instead of light brown I am used to seeing.....

get some wire crimps and crimping tool, or invest in a soldering iron and shrinkwrap

looks like fuel injector. your car must be running like crap right now.

reconnect it and get some shrink tubing on it.

just offering my two cents, yeah, that is fuel injector, and maybe the last owner tried to do something in the engine(clean injectors maybe, but can't get it off, hand got slipped and rip the wires out) I can't get see the way the wires look clearly, but it does look torn off and not cut off, then the owner probably when aw ****, better sell this thing. Again, my two cents.

Wires didn't appear to be cut off very cleanly....got it reconnected and it runs a little better now.... ......Starting to have alot of fun with this car........so far the massive power steering fluid leak was fixed with a $35 pressure hose....now this easy fix.......

What hose!?!? I have a power steering fluid leak, but can't figure out where because the CV boots were torn and the bottom of the car was coated with axel grease and power steering fluid. I fixed the joints, so was thinking of cleaning the bottom of the engine when weather gets little warmer (like in... April?), but now I see your post, I am wondering if I have a similar problem? I have the gas smell when you start cold, so I am thinking that other hoses are bad too...

The injector gnd terminal in the pic seems pretty dark =bad connection. Clean that connection... All others must be bad also... go through and clean all connectors, add real tiny contact grease tip in each.

Mine was the pressure hose that goes from the power steering pump up to a fitting about 12 inches behind the power steering fluid resevoir...it can be obtained at most auto parts stores for about $35. I was told that if your power steering is leaking alot of fluid it is usually the pressure hose, if its only a little fluid then it could be the return hose....It was a bear to get the nut holding it onto the power steering pump off though.....I had to cut a 15/16 th's wrench down to about 4" long to get something in there and remove the nut, could not get a socket or anything else on it....Have fun.....
