How Much HP Does The VG30ET Have

Hey I waz looking at JDM Engines and saw the VG30ET, VG30DE and the VQ30DE. Wat would be the HP on these engines? Would there need to be alot of modifications for one of these engines to fit inside a VG30E Max 93 GXE?

Thanks

I think there's a discusion of this already.

The VG30ET, which I think is the 80s Turbo 300ZX engine, has like 200hp stock, or maybe 210.

The VG30DE has 222hp stock, and the VQ30 DE as 222hp stock as well.

The VQ would require tons of work from what I here. The VG30DE would be a little easier, but the VG has far more latent potential than just about any other swap engine.

I have a JDM vg30et right now that im selling if you want it. It just needs a new turbo. I'll sell it for cheap. It will fit the vg 3rd gens with light mods. all of the motor mounts line up cept the front one, the turbo manifold is in the way, but its not hard to get around it. I was gonna do the swap but i just bought a new car so i wont be doing it anytime soon. I have pictures if you want too.

@Maxininct...

How much are you selling it for? Will it run without the turbo for the time being? I know the turbo isn't an overnight job, nor is it an inexpensive task. I'm just wondering if it can be driven while the turbo addition is being worked on (i.e. - can it be a "work-in-progress project). Was it matched to a manual or an automatic tranny? How much work would be needed for it to fit with the front engine mount? If the price is right, I'd need it shipped, though...

w/o the turbo the engine will be very sluggish due to lowered CR...BUT it should run. manual or auto doesn't matter...just need to swap out the pilot bushing. it'll bolt up to the front engine mount w/o the turbo mounted.

84-86 300ZX VG30ET - 200 hp
87-89 300ZX VG30ET - 205 hp
most JDM VG30ET - 210-215 hp due to them supposedly having euro cams.

this is how i did mine: http://members.cardomain.com/mtcookson

without the turbo the engine would run a bit rich and definitely quite sluggish but as dan said it would still run. i've driven with a blown turbo before and its not fun but you can still get to where you need to go.

Was repositioning the turbo a PITA? Ive been interested in a turbo for like a later project. but it looks like alot of fabrication in the installers part. No offence big props for a turbo max, but that turbo piping from the picks dont look to good.

the entire project IS a huge PITA. this is not a kit..every piece needs to be fabbed up.

would you be able to bolt on a turbo from a 300zx on a vg30e engine without any major problems? obviously you'd have to replace the ecu as well, but would you have to lower compression to keep the pistons from melting or would they manage?

the problem lies more in the turbo's location from what I understand.

in stock location, it's in the way of the motor mount.

Oh I see... well there must be some way around that... weld your own mounts or something... gonna have to look into that. But the engine would be able to take it though?

there's always a way around things.
you may need some sort of fuel management system to up the amount of fuel going in.
