Where can I buy bulbs for 3rd gen switches?

Hey guys,

I have a question.

I have a complete burned out dashboard (some idiot shorted the driver's side 12+v low beam to the passenger side 12+V highbeam) and it burned out all the illuminations on the buttons of the dashboard (including acc). I have a question. I did take apart the switches, and found that most have replaceable bulbs. Only problem, no dealer I know of wants to order them for me (when some of the switches clearly have bases that look identical to climate control bulbs)

I even contacted courtesy nissan, and I got a reply telling me to go get some bulbs from radioshack. Only problem, the local radioshack doesn't have any bulbs that are in that size...

Anyone know where I can get the bulbs?

Thank you,

I went to the local radioshack to ask a question on relays. he two workers there asked me what relays were and the manager told me that the only thing he knew about relays is that they sold some...

Radioshacks weren't always like this around here... =(

I don't have time to do LED conversion. Have mechanical things to take care of (like Driver's axel...).

Do you have the radioshack part # for the bulbs?

Anyone know what the description of the bulb should be? I mean, other than a tiny-*** 12v DC bulb, is there anything else that I should be looking for?

I replaced those bulbs and got them at Radio Shack also. What I found is that the Radio Shacks in the malls typically didn't have them as they have limited shelf space. I went to a Radio Shack with its own parking spaces out front (standalone structures, or whatever you want to call them) and I got them.

I used LEDs on mine and put the resistors in the wires, but used bulbs from Radio Shack on a friends car

The two radioshacks both have parking lots of their own, and they are huge, but they are full of no brand DVD players and they have stacks of RC cars...

The manager of one store, when I asked if I can ask him about relays said, "We are NOT an electronics store, we just sell some misc parts.". Oh, in that case, I guess I should have ordered a cheesburger deluxe and a coke...

By the way, both stores have less than 1 meter of aisle space dedicated to "parts"... I think Radioshacks are a dying breed (at least around the NYC area anyway)...

I'll try to go look for some other radioshack stores... sigh.

So I go to the local radioshack, and they don't have the part # at all. I mean, they have this rickity drawer where ALL electrical parts are placed, and it doesn't even have the part number. The salesperson was hesitant to order.

I then decide to give up and was going to look for some 3mm LED's and resistors, and then in the LED drawer, I found 3 packages of the 12V microlamps... I call the other radioshack and ask if they have any 12v microlamps, and then they just tell me that they do not "stock" specialty items, and hang up... It is a truly sad day here in North NJ...

Yeah I did the write up on Craigs page that Pyrophilus linked but never finished it because I never messed with my ACC again. I am getting ready to put it or another one in my 92 in the next couple of months so I will finish that part up later. I may mess with trying to figure out a way to do the MCC decently at the same time.

Also a note on this thread. Why isnt the bulb info in the stickies? It is asked so many times I figure it would be in one of the maint. stickies. Maybe it is because I havent looked in them in a long time.
