ABS Actuator Assembly Leaking

I have found the actuator assembly is leaking brake fluid. The brakes have felt kind of soft to me, now I know why. Do I have to replace the entire unit? Any good guides out there? The Haynes book I purchased does not cover replacing this component.

Should be replaced. The autozone manual in the stickies that I'm sure you checked doesn't have it for the VG. You might have to get a Nissan fsm.

Does the unit itself differ for a VE or VG?

Now I know this is going to sound dumb, but please bear with me...What is the actuator assembly??

I ask because about a month or so ago my e-brake light began luminating intermittently and I couldnt figure out why until someone told me to check my brake fluid. Turns out that's all I needed. However, I do know that you should NOT have to fill your brake fluid unless there is a leak...I have not and still do not see any puddles on the ground and was wondering if maybe I have a leak in the "acutator assembly"....except I don't know what that is!! Can someone please let me know and tell me where I should look for this part? Or...any ideas on where else I should look for a leak in brake fluid? The leak HAS to be minor because like I said, I do not see any fluid anywhere (inside or out) and I have not had to fill it up again since... Thanks everyone!

On the 93 model, the actuator is located in the engine compartment at the front on the right side of the car. In 95 they apparently moved it to be near the master cylinder. Not sure on the 91. You should be able to find it because it will have a number (greater than 8 ?) tubes connected to it. The tubes go to each wheel. A low level in the MC resevoir is what lead me to start looking.

Yea, thats where mine started to leak, than it would start to shoot out., Just replace the unit and you'll be fine..best thing to do is go on car-part.com and search for the part.Or check your nearest local junkyard..

MAXTUNED that is one sweet turbo charnged engine

usually you cant fix an abs pump you would have to buy the hole new previously owned part, but they are not that expensive. and installation is prety simple just as long as you dont forget to bleed your brake system after install.
