Suspension Problem...Please Help!

When I lift the front of my car off of the ground, and then lower it back down, itdrops about 4" lower than its supposed to.....theres basicallly no gap betwen the tire & fender. When I drive it, it'll nearly bounce off the ground like a low rider....I have an oil leak or 2 that leaks oil onto the bushings..... I spray degreaser on everything down there, wash it off, that cures the prob for 3-4 weeks. What I'd like to figure out is which bushings would cause those symtoms......some input would be awesome.

Thanks guys.....Matt

Blown struts for sure and major sagging springs. Did you buy this from a litrtle man with a taco in one hand and a torch in the other?

It returs back to its original gap, and handles normal once its all cleaned & dried..

after I clean all the grease off, and drive the car thru a nice rain, after it dries out, everythings perfectly normal again.....kinda weird isnt it?

Repair the leaks first.
they'll probably be the cheapest things to repair anyways

no...
if it's your pan seal at the front of the engine, pull the crank pulley off, clean it up very well with a stiff brush and some brake cleaner, then gob some RTV silicone over the gap between the oil pan and the seal housing. that's worked on every Max I've seen the seal leaking on.

If it's the main seal (which is also very likely), then simply replace it with a new seal and be done. the VE is easy to replace the seal on. VG is a nightmare.

(Takes quick note of this....) Good to know, since I've got a really slow oil leak somewhere but it's ticking me off.

BTW, this is a very weird sounding problem... I can't think of what could cause what you're describing.

if your car sinks down like 4 inches and bounces all over the place. i wouldn't be surprised if thats strut oil getting over everything.

struts don't hold up the car, the springs do.

but if your struts are blown, it will cause the springs to bounce uncontrollably, which causes all kings of nasty problems elsewhere- especially in the department of sagging springs.

absolutley correct.
contrary to popular belief struts are a SAFETY, not a comfort, item
if you have blown struts you are driving an unsafe vehicle.
