HELP! I NEED a CD player!

OK i have a 92 SE with the beautiful sounding BOSE system. My friend says he knows where he can get an adaptor of some sort to convert a new head unit to work with the BOSE, neone heard of this? also was my car available with a factory CD player? if so neone know where i could pick one of those up and if IT would work? thanks

PAC makes an adapter to retain the Bose speakers and amps.
and the factory either had a double din with CD or a single Din with tape IIRC

LOL
you're the first person i've ever heard say the bose sounds beautiful. for the most part i hear it referred to as 'blose' or 'bozo'. to each their own i guess.

Of my three maximas the 93 has a fully intact Bose with CD and I must admit it sounds awesome. The problem is if any one component goes down you start getting screwed.

my brother installed a 7600mp pioneer with my bose system and it works fine without any adapters. all u have to do is figure out with wire is the remote turn on for the bose amps. i think he spliced that into the attena wire so every time the deck is turned on it activates the bose speakers as well.

I had a Peripheral Adapter like this one:

Bose Adapter

It sounded much better than the stock Bose HU. Eventually, both rear speakers blew and the front right amp went out.

As for Bose sound quality (when working), in 1992 it was one of the very best factory systems out there. I had a 1992 Maxima with Bose in 1995 and it was better than almost any stock system. It wasn't as nice as good aftermarket stuff in 1995 and it isn't as good as a lot of stock systems used today. If you are remotely interested in good sound quality, I suggest going all aftermarket.
