Car Drives Stange While Stereo Is Turned Up

Hey I waz driving back and had my stereo up loud not loud loud but I have a Alpine Head unit with Sony Xpod 760w and 2 10's in the trunk and during nice bass (AC / DC) the whole car loses power and my steering gets super loose and the lights/dash/ and headlights go down and up to the bass. I have a new battery and the belt were changed last week but this waz going on before the belts. The car also doesnt accelerate as fast/hessiates a little and shifts differently (Higher RPMS) Any suggestions? I had my alternator checked out and it is good. My engine also makes this sounds http://webpages.charter.net/sabre83/Max/Max.mpg

Thanks

sounds like an idler / tensioner pulley bearing gone bad.
also based on your current (electrical) problem I'm also inclined to say tensioner.
My only question being does the VG have a tensioner for the alternator belt?

The mounting for the alternator has the tensioner built in. You just adjust the mount to tighten the belt.

For your losing power during powerfull bass....you need to get a capacitator.....
I put a 1.5Farat rockford fostgate capacitor on my 1500w amp and 2 10"s
and when that bass hits when volume is turned up almost full...the lights don't dim a bit....they use to tho...

yeah big stereos are hell on charging systems. get a cap like the guy above me, because even if everything is working fine, its still sucking a lot of power from the batt, alt.... unless you get a cap...

Wat RPM does the VG engine idle at? Mine seems to idle quite low, 400 to 500 RPMs but no shaking or anything. Is this normal if its wat (internetautomar) is true about tensioner/idler how hard would it be to fix? And How much

need to adjust the idle so its about 700-750rpms.....if it is under heavy load....heater/stereo subs/lights and idle it may dip to 500-600rpms...400 seems really low....mine will go down to 500-600 under heavy loads and at idle even with my capacitor...but anytime the car is moving under any load the battery reads 13.5-14.5 volts(thanks to my 3 new gauges I setup today)

I belive there is a power streering oil pressure switch. The current pull of the head unit could cause a flux on the switch causing the steering problems.

I know, but I've been idling that low since I got the car.
i figure it will correct itself once I get the new o2, new cat, new car, cv axles rack boot, coilovers, muffler, speakers, etc....
