wanting to change the sterring wheel
wanting to change the sterring wheel
to a racing wheel what will make this possible can i go to my local machine shop or can i order one off the internet or in a magazine or what?
and also what could i do with my cruise and stuff move it somewhere?

i think the contacts for the cruise control switch, is 2 circular grooves that mesh together with the back of the wheel.. so i don't think moving it is a good idea.
someone on here changed his steering wheel to 240sx (no air bag, with cruise) wheel, and i heard it's a direct fit. and it looks fine. i got one sitting in the garage waiting for me to save up some money to restitch it with new leather and put it on..

All you have to do for the cruise is disconnect the wiring. A chiltons tells you exactly what color of wire does what. Move it up onto the dash. Also, you'll have to remove the ring contact to get everything to fit properly.
Be warned though, this isn't a easy task, and also the airbag can be very dangerous. Make sure you have the battery disconnected for 30 mins before you attempt anything. That way there's not charge in the system.
Then you just run into having to mount the new steering wheel. Also, figuring out what to do with the horn. Unless the steering wheel comes witht he available contacts.
