I have that exact set-up with the magnaflow single tip muffler. I think it sounds great but it is pretty loud. It does sound a little ricey when the engine is cold but when it warms up it has a nice deep tone. It only has a little bit of drone but on the highway it doesn't. It's also ALOT louder than the Greddy SP. Power gains are also good.

I would definitely recommend getting this set-up unless you live in a state where it rains alot or they put salt on the roads. If you do live some where like this then you should spend the extra money on the stainless one from wsp. Otherwise it'll rust.

Another thing to consider is that aluminized-steel has a coating on it that burns off. It takes quite a while for it to burn off and it creates a nasty smell.

i got the 2.5 all the way back from warp speed. i like it alot. its a bit loud and i get a drone sound after its been warmed up at around 2000 rpms or so. I put a magnaflow muffler on and i think that added to the loudness. its got a great deep tone that i like. let me see if i can find a video here.......................

http://home.earthlink.net/~gregghenry/MOV01550.MPG

this was before I got around to fixing the exhuast leak. the guy who put on the y-pipe broke some exhaust manifold studs....but it still sounds great i think.

I have a very similar setup, only difference is I have a different cat from Warpspeed, and a different magnaflow model. As was mentioned, there is a little drone at 2000-2500 rpms, but it's nothing major. It sounds nice!

it doesnt sound bad. I considered buying that set-up. I just want something that is going have a quieter and deeper sound, if that makes any sense. I would have to go stainless b/c I have always lived where theres been snow.

you would have to shave a bit of the y-pipe for MT to get all the gears right, I think.

Im assuming it gets in the way of the shift Linkage, but I have an AT so not sure.

I doubt that's the case, or else we would see more people complaining about that.

When I do get mine, I intend powder coating it or giving it some form of rust-protection.

I have the full 2.5" exhaust from WSP, honestly, I would get a 2.25" b-pipe, I think 2.5" is overkill and would rather have some low-end back, even if my top-end is decreased a little. As everyone has mentioned, the magnaflow sounds nice but loud. Get the largest resonator you can with this setup.

i have a magnaflow and didn't think it was all that loud... by what everyone is saying it must be because i have a turbo or something.

it drones a tiny bit around 2,000 rpm but after that you can only hear the engine going.

I actually gained alot of low-end and top-end when I put it on but I also installed my udp and flywheel at the same time.

The only thing I would do different, would be to put a much quieter muffler on. I liked the loud sound at first but now it's kind of annoying. It draws too much attention and now everyone is wanting to race me.

I really, really liked how it sounded when I just had my cai.

What muffler do you guys think would look and sound similar to the stock one with a 2.5" inlet?

no one ever wants to race me
probably because of that big **** 2.5" tailpipe that sticks out and that she's loud when you romp on it.
not too bad at idle though.
the blackened tip probably doesn't help matters much (darn rich running car)

My exhaust tip is black. Does this mean it's running rich? Does it mean I need an o2 sensor?

BTW I just purchased an o2 sensor and alternator from you. How long do you think it'll take to ship?

I got the 2.5 inch from warpspeed last april and I love it. I got the magnaflow twin 3inch tip muffler wich looks and sounds good. sounds really good at 6k full throttle
(had my friend take it for a drive while I watch). I didnt notice loss of low end top end improved alot.I gotta check on the exhaust its in its first winter. oh yea got the biggest resonator forgot what size. And I like it LOUD got pulled over once.

yep, i have that whole setup. is loud. and very deep. i have since replaced the y-pipe with cattman headers. honestly, the y-pipe and stock manifolds deliver more low-end power than the headers. the headers, however, seem to have gained me more torque, ie, pulling power. like a truck. i cannot street race anymore with headers on the VG. there's no low hp anymore. in a way it sucks, but oh well.

at this point, i may benefit from a JWT tuning session, with chip and whatever else they find: i am running no O2 sensor and no EGR system. headers have no holes in them for these things. race only. i think part of the reason for the loss of low end power is that there is no O2 sensor.
