Battery and brake lamp

I have 93 Maxima SE (90K miles on it). Today while after driving for a while I see Brake and battery warning lamp come up.

Luckily I was able reach my home after this happened

I am guessing there might be a problem with alternator or alternator belt. But how come brake light came along with that?

I don't have any problems with brake so far...

Any ideas ?

it's the alternator, and it's just a glitch that the lights come on together.
not an unusual one though.

it's not a "glitch" that causes both lights to come on

it's actually written in the owner's manual that those two indicate alternator problems

I call it a "glitch" because the charging system light being on should be enough, but people are too cheap and too stupid to pay attention to a single light that doesnt risk their lives.

oh, gotcha

another confusing one for people is the "e-brake light" (aka low fluid level)
