Heater trouble

Well now I have another problem. My heater is blowing an arctic wind in my car. This started yesterday after I installed the block heater (realy fun got a bunch of antifreeze in my face because i couldnt open the drain plug no mater how much wd40 i used lol) since then there is like barley any heat comming out. It's -48 C with the wind chill today and I have to take my 7 month old son somewhere in the morning. Any ideas?

Bleed? I guess I didn't. Now how does one do that? I didn't see anything for that in the crappy Hayes manual I have.

open the radiator cap, let the car run for about 30 minutes while periodically topping off the antifreeze.
and don't forget to have the heat going too.

I thought that involded somthing to do with the bleeder screw, I thought I saw some one post a pic of where it was located, and arent you supposed to elevate the front of the car?? I remember reading a thread about it not to long ago.

I havn't had a chance to try any of your sugestions yet guys. I was way to tired when I got home from the office. My brother and I did search allover the engine for the bleeder screw thingy on Sunday but we couldn't find it anywhere. The pic that was in a Haynes manual was showing the 95 maxima engine (I hate that about that damn manual whenever I need to do something it shows that damn engine) So we just left the top off of the rad and ran the engine for like 15 min. I saw some additive for the cooling system at PArts Source the other day that says it can double your heat output. What is that stuff and is it safe?

"double your heat..."
Thats new version of snake liniment; cures all ailments: ignition, brakes, gas consumption...

Before spoiling u cool ant -system, see how to improve heating: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/748507/7

For bleeding, loosen one of the topmost hoses so that wate trickles out. Drive one hour above 2000rpm, add coolant as necessary. All bubbles are now out...

Well I'v bled the system and everything seems to be going ok now. I'm still not getting as much heat as I would like. I want to sweat. . I'm going to try that idea of insulating the cooling system hoses. Would I use the same kind of insulation thaty you would use for household pipe insulation or something else?

My opinion is that anythin goes as they now bare in the 80mph wind... what u said might be best? As u see, I used plush strips, had plenty... Has to shield from direct wind, insulate a little; min. 1/5" maybe. The more the better. Installation easiness is definitely one factor, fasten so that will not fall.

My Maxima is real hot at minus 20. The 2gen I have, is still Icebox, has to do with core size.

Another possibility:
I have not checked the flaps on this car as its so hot. But maybe (like mazda) they can be ? broken and let cold air bypass past the heater?
