ok so I finaly got to re-wireing the stereo some one geto fabulusly instaled, stereo memory (yellow) was wired up to the power unit (red) so every time the car was turned off the stereo would be reset.

My emergency lights never worked, so while I was at it found out that the conection for the emergency light was not conected. SO I conected the emercency lights and the dash lights stay on, even after I take the key out and close the door. the "ding" that suposed to sound wehn you leave your lights on or key in car does not sound.

SO first I thought it was the stereo wireing that was wrong but just to be on the lazy side I disconected the emergency switch, and bingo everithing worked again, dash lights turned off and "ding" came back. does this mean the swithc is bad for the emergency light or I have an elictrical prob some where??

 

for the memory reset, you have the colors backwards. the memory wire is on the switch and not the 12v constant wire......

 

pick up another switch at a yard for like $5 and test it.
or better yet just check the continuity on your current switch.
