doors misaligned?
luckilly i don't have this problem with my maxima (yet) but i have seen many with the problem of the door(s) sagging which causes friction when closing it. if you've had the problem then you know what i'm talking about. it seems to affect a lot of 3rd gens. hopefully it's just loose hinge bolts. anyone had the problem and corrected it? i totalled the last max before i could fix it.

i just used a nickle under the bolt plate of the door's hinge, reachable from the inner side of the door when opened. just loosen the bolts enough to slip the nickel under the hinge. you will want to use a jackstand with a t-shirt or rag on it to hold the door up (as in support, not lift).
took 10 min., 3 months later, still perfect... probably will stay that way a long time.

Several months ago someone suggested about the same thing. Take the two bottom bolts out, slide the necessary number of washers in there and replace the bolts. Door shuts like a dream. You could get new hinges but the fender has to come off to replace them.
