Car is now always running like it's cold??

Here's my problem - when the car is cold, it does not really "go" very fast, shifts hard, and even when you push the gas/air pedal down harder, you hear from the front left the sound of the car, I think trying to massively take in air , or the "errrrr-----" sound that it does when you push down the gas further, but the car really doesn't move any faster.

But suddenly now, my car is doing that all the time! Like, just trying to keep up with traffic is becomming an effort, and I have to get it to around 3500 rpm!! WHen I first got te car, going up to 2500, I could keep way ahead of everyone else from a stoplight, even when little hondas tried to "race".

It's running really crappy :/ I'm not sure what to do - it still has the "idle", jump around when I'm at stops, and thats even gotten a little worse, it like wants to die when I'm at stoplights, not all the time, but almost everytime.

What in the heck could be the prroblem??? I was going to try a new MAF - but thats $400 from the dealership (was going to use, and give back if it didn't fix it right after putting it in - and then get a used one, or one from internetautomart)

Well Do the basics,

*check if you have vg or ve
*check any codes on your ecu
*check if you have good spark on all plugs.
*check if fuel is going to injectors.
*check compresion.

you proly need a tune up, Not oil change, but replace distributor cap/rotor, spark plugs, wires. so check if you have good spark.

Otherwise if you have Fuel going to the injector, they proly are going bad. check resistance on the injectors.

if all works out then check if your head gasket not blown or leaking presure. so compresion check....

seriously though give more info about your car.

Alright, sorry. I have a 91 GXE VG - had 1 injector replaced through mechanic - the other 5 replaced through a friend about a year ago. Thats about the problems first started, but have been getting worse, until now. I have newer spark plugs, the spark plug wires are almost 2yrs old, but are the NGK blues, the cap and rotor had a little bit of wear last time I looked in there, but it was just slightly rough surfaces. I brought it into the mechanic several times, and they couldn't find any obvious problems - no computer codes. But they weren't totally sure what it was doing, because it wouldn't run terrible for them, only a little rough.

Thanks - I'll check out the cap and rotor aagin - I think it was like $70 from autozone.

what kind of spark plugs?? I had Bosch platinum +4, from the prev owner and they maide the car feel like and injector was down (0-20 mph the car had no power and would run rough, after 20 mph it would run fine) . If you have bosch platinum anything replace with NKG coper.

I did not remember what not to get when I was at autozone and ended up getting Bosch platinum. , now I have to replace them and I just installed them on thursday.

I'd double check the installation on the injectors, as well as the injectors themselves.
