Which motor do i have?

I am curious if someone could tell me what motor i have, i own a 1990 SE. Thats pretty much all i know. I have never really understood all the letters and stuff, and the difference between all the lettering and numbers.

okay, what does the vg mean, and the e? i know the 30 means 3 litre. Also what is an sohc and dohc engine??

first two letters =block family
#'s=engine size
E=electronic fuel injection
DE=Dual overhead cams
DET=Dual overhead cams/Turbo
DETT=Dual overhead cams/twin turbo
DD=Direct injection

SOHC=single overhead camshafts per cylinder banks.
DOHC=Dual overhead camshafts per cylinder banks.

sohc...and I think e means electronic fuel injection... but I've been wrong before and I might be wrong here.

Edit: Damn I got beat... need to type faster.

No the E stands for electronic fuel injection.
FOr example VE30DE
VE= Engine Block Family
30= Displacement 3.0 liters
D= Camshaft
E=Eectrionic Fuel injection

How could it be neither??? how would air/fuel go to the engine? how??
