who has the intrax/tokico setup?

can I see a pic? I am intrigued as the intrax springs lower less in the rear, which means no tucked wheel well look! (I hope.)

Plus, what is everyones opinion on the tokicos for 3rd gens? Good for sport handling or are they purely cosmetic?

Here's mine. I've been on Intrax/Tokico for about 3 years now, and the Tok's have held up very nicely.

I've also got ST sways, and it handles very good. The car is a *bit* higher in the back, which I think looks very nice. Intrax IMO is the perfect drop for a 3rd gen. Some of the other drops look higher in the front (like Eibach IMO)

I think you can get Tok's for a little under $300 these days. Tok's arent the BEST handling strut you can buy but they are pretty much the best 'bang for the buck' strut available to us. They're certainly no slouch. However, I think pretty much everyone will tell you though that if you have the money and feel like spending it, go for the Koni's. Of course, those are $500+ though

wow! your car looks great! The wheels and lights give it a very Japanese/European look. That is exactly the suspension drop I want. I hate how the eibachs give an even drop because the fender arch is NOT even on our cars. Most suspension companies don't understand that.

Now for more Q's: Is the ride really rough, take into consideration what types of roads you drive on, because that is a major factor for me. Are you leaving the seat when you hit a pothole or something extreme like that, does hitting a bump feel like the whole car is getting rocked or can you pinpoint which corner is taking the hit? Over the 3 years you have had the car has the addition of lowered suspension produced alot of rattles? If so are they just interior parts and stuff or are the rattles frame/susp. related?

Sorry I have so many questions, but I am extremley picky about my suspensions in every aspect but price (koni's are just too much!)

One more thing, sorry I have asked you so much stuff... What's your ground cleareance ot the front bumper, behind the front wheel, and at the b-pillar? A general measurement is fine. Just dont want to get stuck on a speed bump or anything...

3rd gens are REALLY very extremely solid to start with interior wise. Anywho, I've got a few rattles, but that's not from the suspension. It's from my breaking various clips over the years taking my door panels off and on so many times (a few of the door locks rattle a bit because all the felt has rubbed off the back).

The suspension is pretty firm so you definitely feel bumps more than stock (and coupled with the 17's), but it's not rough like Civic's with 4" drops or anything. It's more of a desired 'feel more connected to the car' sort of feeling the bumps. Of course, if I hit a pothole REALLY hard, I'm sure I'd leave the seat. I always avoid those things at all costs anyway and avoid really rough roads so I cant really comment from experience .

Any low drop is going to create some 'bounciness', but it's more of a smooth 'bounce' with the Intrax. The sort of 'bounce' you see on a new 350z or S2k coming up behind you and you can see their HID's pattern bouncing on the ground as it passes and it just looks smooth/taught/etc. It's a really very nice ride for being as low as you can take the 3rd gen.

I cant get any measurements for you right now, but maybe someone else can. I can tomorrow if you'd like. Keep in mind though I've got the Stillen lip so I couldnt really get an accurate front bumper measurement

P.S. I know exactly what you mean on the wheel arch's. That's always driven me insane too. Most cars these days seem to have a substantially lower wheel arch in the rear, so dropping the car evenly actually makes the rear look lower, which is quite gross looking.

look in the sig for my car on Intrax.

I love them and James' car is one of the reasons I considered getting them. My car tucks the front and rear tires slightly (no finger gap in other words lol).

Mine is still on stock wheels but if someone would buy my wheels I have a set of 18s waiting on tires (gotta sell my 17s to buy tires).

I love my intrax and I have a stillen kit. I have not had ground clearance issues yet. I take speed bumps at a slight angle sometimes but have yet to bottom out under normal driving.

On my gxe i had intrax tokico and it felt great even with the stillen kit on i never had a problem with ground clearance. I drive a lot in the city and i dont realy have problems with bumpy roads i think the ride is nice and smooth and stiff when it needs to be i cant say anything bad about it. I have the same setup on my se and it feels great very tight with a fstb and st sway bars. Eventually im going to get konis but for now its great. Dont let anyone fool you into thinking its a bad setup.
