Speed Sensor Fault?
Does anyone know how the speed sensor works? I have a faulty speedo reading when the car is cold and the lockup torque converter also plays up when cold. (I think the transmission problem is related to the speed sensor).
I assume the speed sensor has a spindle that engages the output shaft of the transmision and the sensor then outputs a voltage based on the speed of the output shaft. Am I right or wrong?
Why then would this speedo fault be related to temperature if the sensor is faulty?
Anyone with some thoughts on this?
Brent.
