Dual exhaust

I am probably getting some new exhaust soon from internetautomar, but just before i buy it im curious about if there is dual exhaust for the 3rd generations. If there is dual exhaust, anyone know how it sounds, looks?

Its a custom job. If you use 2 mufflers then I think you have to bash in part of the spare tire well to make it fit. Seamax has it, and a few others I think. How it sounds depends largely on what mufflers you use.

So its probably not even worth the price? Cause i guess it would pretty much be almost doubled due to extra labor and an extra muffler?

Triple ? price. But if u have real twins, wow-flow, that means power. Two 2.5" pipes instead of one, three ? times the flow.

Has somebody really made genuine twins or just end part? Pics?

too much flow can also equal burnt exhaust valves

If you run true duals from the exhaust manifolds back you should probably cut the piping to 2" ID.

I got a g35 muffler, not true dual, but dual 4 inch tips and that nice g35 tone.

Yes, blindly installing two separate pipes, most probably will cause problems. The ex pipe is one part of the system and should be tuned to fit intake & engine flow.

Still I think there is an untapped 'reserve': if I had a spare maxima, I would prefer that testing before turbo, start with 2.5" pipes. Its easy to block it if flow is too much... One interesting pwr feature was the direct valves somebody sells [opening after ? manifolds].

but yeah for the cost vs gain duals arent worth the money. But if you want something unique and custom go for it.

You need a certain amount of back pressure, and running true duals would probably make your car run like **** and be slower.

Bah, a lil less torque, but more hp. Defintley didn't make me slower.

The gains are not very noticable, I wouldn't bother with it.

For me it was a matter of filling in the dual holes in my kit. Only cosmetic.

There's a car in SC that has a mustang kit and true duals. I saw him a few months ago and I told him to visit the org. I guess he never did but his car was hot as hell. It sounded like a domestic V8 and was low as hell. He also had all of his doors shaved. It was all in primer though. I haven't seen the car since. He lives in Florence. He said that with the duals you feel a little more on the butt dyno but it's maybe all in his head.

Maybe that car then burned in hell; too hot?

There's difference between pIPES and Pipes: definitely less restriction always helps. But if not balanced, nonburned air/fuel mixture might get out before burning; that will never help...

I seen a guy with a VE dual exhaust set up. Looked like those long silver pipes the GT mustangs have. It sounded like american muscle.

the best way to do this without having to modify any of the underpinnings of the car (ie spare tire) is to mount muffler where the stock one is... youd need a muffler with 1 outlet on each side to run as follows:

true dual aint worth it on these cars, unless you run like pea shooter pipes

soundwise youre not going to get anything near a real V8 sound, it largely depends on the motor. A guy on here put a flowmaster 40 series on his 4th gen (99Maxima5sp i think his name is) it sounds good, almost Z-ish with a little rumble to it. My friend has the same muffler on his 5.0 camaro, and there is obviously a huge sound difference
