power to antenna, but no power to radio

Hi all: I have a 93 Maxima, VE30DE. The radio and fan were turning on and off intermittently while driving, i.e. either both work or both turn off, so I opened up the front panel to locate the problem. No success in finding the problem, but now when I try to hook up the radio again, the antenna shoots up immediately, but there's NO power to the radio, even though the fan works. I tried this with the car engine on and off. Can't make any sense of it. Front fuses are fine. Can someone help ?

Thanks !

Same thing!

That's insane b/c the exact same thing happened to me about 15 minutes ago.

I was trying to fix my power antenna and then when I got it working the radio does not turn on at all. On top of that, my keyless pads are working either!

Any electric help would rock.

Yup!

Just figured it out like 4 hours ago (posted the same topic in the Audio/Electric forum).

Looks like the Electric Bat fuse was blown. Replaced it. Works like a champ

Guys, I found out that the radio will not work unless I plug in the antenna connection, which is the single connection in the corner of the radio back panel opposite to the composite connector. Is the circuit inside wired in such a way that the CD player/ radio will not receive power without the antenna connected? Does anyone know how the antenna connector is different from the power antenna connection in the composite connector (blue wire) ?

sackz23, I read your post, but didn't find info on where the electric bat fuse is located. can you please specify ? thanks for the help !
